Flight Test Data Correction for Position Error
This sub section relates the method by which airspeed subsystem indicated readings are corrected for position error. As stated in Section
is now form of
versus CLic for the low speed region, usually below 0.6 Mach number, and in the form of
versus Mic for the high speed region.
Initially, lag corrected indicated Mach number will be computed from qcic1 and Ps1
(At this point it will be assumed all data are lag-corrected if required and the subscript "1" will be dropped.)
Indicated lift coefficient will be calculated by Equation (11).
Then
will be obtained from either Mic or CLic, depending on the speed regime. Now
can be obtained by multiplying
by qcic.
Note that
position error correction; that is
Compressible dynamic pressure, qc, can now be calculated:
Calibrated Mach number is calculated from Equation (24) substituting qc for qcic and Pa for Ps.
Calibrated airspeed is obtained from qc and the airspeed indicator equation (Equation (9), Appendix A) and calibrated pressure altitude is obtained from Pa and the altimeter equation (either Equation (10) or (11), Appendix A)
